Interpreting

Please note that we comply with the Code of Conduct by The Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters, which has, for example, some restrictions on the working conditions.
Translation work
We translate from English, German and French into Finnish and from Finnish to English.
A translation page is a calculated charging unit and its length in Finland is 1,560 characters including spaces. The price for a single translation page is 70€ + VAT.

Work packages you can schedule directly onto our calendar:
- Red:
- max. 5 translation pages English to Finnish 300€ + VAT
- Black:
- max. 4 translation pages Finnish to English or German/French to Finnish 240€ + VAT
An additional page for translation is 60€ + VAT and the translation deadline is moved to 9am the following day.
Estimated pricing for quality improvement:
- Proofreading 30€ per hour + VAT, approximate working pace is 10 pages per hour
- Line editing 40€ per hour + VAT, approximate working pace is 200 words per hour
- Substantive editing 50€ per hour + VAT, the quality of text determines the working pace
Machine translation post-editing (MTPE)

During a free 30-minute meeting, we can discuss in further detail about your language needs, their requirements, schedule and pricing.
Book a time for your translation from our calendar: Full day reservation – translation
To ensure you know exactly when your translation is worked on and when the delivery is, you may reserve a time for it on our calendar. We will deliver the translation by the end of the working day you have booked (at 5pm).
Instructions:
- Choose a date from the calendar and reserve it.
- Send us the material and billing information by email to info(at)sanaraja.fi
- Company: Contact person’s name, company name, postal address, email, phone number, billing address and other possibly necessary billing information
- Private person: Full name, postal address, email and phone number.
- We will confirm the order by email (from info(at)sanaraja.fi) within 24 hours of the receipt of the material.
Working pace is
- 5 translation pages per day English to Finnish, or
- 4 translation pages per day Finnish to English, or
- 4 translation pages per day German to Finnish, or
- 4 translation pages per day French to Finnish.

We reserve the right to refuse work that we cannot complete within the reserved time, for example due to extensive professional vocabulary. A highly technical text could easily take a whole day to translate just one page. In these cases, we will also contact you to find a solution that suits all.
An additional page for translation is 60€ + VAT and the translation deadline is moved to 9am the following day.
The standard rate of VAT in Finland is 25.5 % from 1 September 2024.
